Sustainability e-learning modules

Enhance your employees understanding of ESG reporting standards and regulations with PwC’s sustainability e-learning modules. The courses offer both high-level learning for those wanting to get acquainted with sustainability, as well as deep dives into specific regulations. The modules are tailored for those seeking flexible learning and your employees have the freedom to choose when and where to engage with the material. They can pause sessions at their convenience and seamlessly resume when it fits their schedule, as the system saves the progress.

Each e-learning module concludes with a test that you must pass to complete the course. When an employee has passed the course, they will receive a diploma. All modules are in English.

Target audience

Our ESG e-learning course is aimed at executive and leadership, finance and accounting, sustainability or CSR, investor relations, risk and compliance and more functions within an organisation who want to keep up to date on new guidelines in this area and are familiar with basic accounting and reporting processes.

The categories

ESG Awareness

1. Introduction to ESG and ESG reporting

This module is aimed at individuals who are new to ESG, providing a high-level overview on what ESG is, global trends and practices, ESG reporting standards, and the evolution of ESG disclosures in the financial sector.

2. Sustainable finance

This module provides an introduction to Sustainable Finance as part of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting. It covers key ESG regulations impacting the financial sector such as the Sustainability Financial Disclosures Regulation (SFDR), EU Taxonomy, and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and sustainability risks for financial institutions.

3. Net zero

This module walks through how net zero addresses the impacts of climate change. It describes the net-zero framework and what companies can do in order to set a net zero strategy.

4. European sustainability reporting and taxonomy

This module covers the EU taxonomy and CSRD at a high level, covering key concepts such as double materiality and stakeholder mapping.

5. EU taxonomy deep dive

This module will help you understand the background and the structure of the EU taxonomy and the difference between eligibility and alignment. It also introduces the environmental objectives and how to align with them according to the regulations. You will also learn about the technical screening criteria and the high-level reporting requirements.

6. Reporting in accordance with and with reference to the GRI Standards

This module focuses on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards and will provide a comprehensive overview of the key concepts and reporting principles of the GRI.

7. Identifying and applying material topics

This module focuses on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards and provides a comprehensive overview of the double materiality concept of the GRI.

8. GRI and ESRS

This module compares the reporting layers and topics between GRI and ESRS and identifies the similarities and differences between the two. This module may be beneficial to those who have previously reported against the GRI standards and are now in scope of the CSRD.

ESRS

1. Intro to ESRS 1 and ESRS 2

This module focuses on the mandatory European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and will provide a comprehensive overview of what they are and how to use them covering the general requirements in ESRS 1 and ESRS 2.

2. Intro to ESRS E1-E5

This module focuses on the mandatory European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), specifically covering environmental topics E1-E5 and their relevant sub-topics and metrics.

3. Intro to ESRS S1-S4 and G1

This module focuses on the mandatory European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), specifically covering social topics S1-S4 and governance topic G1 and their relevant sub-topics and metrics.

4. Deep dive to ESRS 1

This module focuses on the mandatory European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), specifically providing a comprehensive overview of ESRS 1

5. Deep dive to ESRS 2

This module focuses on the mandatory European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), specifically providing a comprehensive overview of ESRS 2, distinguishing between the reporting requirements in ESRS 2 and the topical ESRS.

6. Deep dive to ESRS E1

This module focuses on the mandatory European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), specifically providing a comprehensive overview of ESRS E1, analysing the Disclosure Requirements and data points in the standard.
